Every New Beginning Comes From Some Other Beginning's End

Hi there. I’d been contemplating dipping my toes into this whole newsletter thing anyway, and now that Twitter is being sent off into space, it seems like the right time to give it a shot. Don’t expect any sort of regularity whatsoever on messages; there’s a reason I’ve devoted a good chunk of my career to writing and editing longform magazine pieces that are labored over for months! But I’ll use this space infrequently to share stories that I’ve worked on, current news that I have musings on, random thoughts on Prince’s discography that MUST BE SHARED, or a stray observation about ‘90s era NBA.

In the meantime, I have a website of my past work that is horribly out of date, I’m still lingering on Twitter as @patcaldwell until all the life rafts have sunk, loitering on Mastodon as @patcaldwell@journa.host in case that takes off, or you can find all my writing for The New Republic here.
